Every relationship is different and there are countless reasons for breaking up, but problems usually start to arise when either party start to neglect the other in some way.
Here is a look at some of the more common reasons for breaking up.
Trust. Top of the tree when it comes to a breaking up. Trust is the very foundation of any relationship, everything is built on it, or stems from it, and once broken can destroy a relationship very quickly. Whether someone has cheated, lied, possibly both, once the seed of distrust is planted, things can soon spiral out of control and end in a breakup.
Boredom. If you have been with someone a while, it's very easy to let your relationship become mundane and "run of the mill". Plenty of couples get caught in this trap and forget spontaneity. It's very important to keep working at a relationship to keep the spark alive.
Selfishness. People can become selfish in a relationship, and can forget the other persons needs, putting their life and problems before anything else. Remembering to listen and take the time help or support your partner is a key part of a healthy relationship.
Compromise. Being in a relationship is all about compromise. This doesn't mean you have to change your life to suit the other person, it just means being aware of the other persons needs. Making lots of tiny compromises can make all the difference in keeping a healthy balance.
Talking. Not just general chit chat, real talk. Countless couples breakup through lack of communication. Sitting down with the other person and really telling them how you feel about an issue or greivance is how you overcome problems and grow as a couple.
